Day and Time: Unknown

The woman is dark-haired, pretty, wearing a lab coat. Her face is contorted by a mixture of fear and hatred. Around her is a room which appears to be a lab of some sort, probably aboard a starship.

"Don't act stupid," she says vehemently. "You knew. You knew all along, didn't you?" Her voice quavers as she makes the accusation and tears begin to form in her eyes. "You helped me, helped with my research. You lived here on the ship, made friends with us..." Her expression becomes uncomprehending. "Why didn't you warn us?"

The biological cylon, Aaron Doral, looks over his shoulder for a brief moment, at the laboratory door behind him. He looks back, then turns and dashes across the lab. The woman's voice calls plaintively after him, "Where are you going?"

At the exit, Doral passes his hand over the sensor, activating the double doors. They slide open and he darts out. He stops short as he faces the bulky form of Robert Rand, the man who was once Satyr's security chief. Rand is wearing a long sleeve black shirt with a red ABR logo emblazoned on the left breast.

Doral spins around only to find another security officer blocking his way. He is dressed like Rand, and his handgun is drawn but held at his side.

Doral turns back to face Rand, who is also holding an automatic pistol. Without raising the weapon, Rand says evenly, "Mr. Doral, do not be foolish. Place your hands on top your head and interlace your fingers."

Doral stands unmoving for a moment, then slowly complies with Rand's direction.

Battlestar Libra Conference room, Day 92

Major Scott Duncan stands at a table; Robert Rand is seated across from him. Duncan says, “Colonel Vansen sends his regards, but he can’t leave CIC at the moment. He asked if I could get some information from you.”

Robert Rand rises from the table at Duncan's words. Rand acknowledges him, saying, "Major Duncan." Rand pauses, then adds, "Certainly."

Day and Time: Unknown

Private Nikol S'Jahar removes his ID and orders papers from the pocket of his uniform. He is young and seems inexperienced. He stands in the corridor of a Fleet warship. "Private Nikol S'Jahar, reporting," he says, his manner unsure.

A female specialist consults a computer screen, then looks up at S'Jahar. "Yep, got you on the list," she nods, and makes an entry with practiced fingers. "Welcome to the Patrocles, Private."

----------------------------------------------

Sergeant Marina Granger appears in the hatchway of a compartment. S'Jahar greets her by name, but it is evident he is meeting her for the first time.

"Private S'Jahar," Granger nods in reply, not smiling though her tone and stance are relaxed. "Take your bag, private. Let's take you to your berth before showing you your new home," she says.

----------------------------------------------

Private S'Jahar stands at attention by a compartment hatch, obviously on guard duty. Colonel William Trafford, the CO of the Tauranian Titan stands at ease before him. They have been conversing, and Trafford looks from S'Jahar into the compartment.

"Bisby, I might just steal this Marine from you," Trafford says, grinning broadly. "A bright young man like him is wasted here!"

In the compartment, a tall, gaunt Colonel is conversing with another officer. He looks sharply toward Trafford, anger evident on his face. This is Colonel Bisby, the CO of the frigate Patrocles.

"You can have the Scorpian cur, for all I care." Bisby's gaze is on Trafford, then switches across to settle contemptuously on S'Jahar. "I didn't know I had one on board; I won't notice when he's gone."

----------------------------------------------

Private Nikol S'Jahar is filing out paperwork in the MarDet Orderly Room when another Marine enters. He's a dark-skinned wall of a man. S'Jahar comes to attention and greets him, "Staff Sergeant."

"S'Jahar," the MarDet commander replies. "I thought I'd check on things."

Nik nods acknowledgement, but does not comment. "How are you getting on with Colonel Bisby?" the Sergeant asks, his voice carefully neutral,

"I'm keeping my head low, Staff Sergeant," S'Jahar says calmly. "He's not the first person I've known who didn't like us."

----------------------------------------------

Battlestar Libra R&D, Day 91

David Dedrick is seated at a desk, looking at a photograph, a marker in his hand. He is wearing Captain's pips.

The photograph shows the wreck discovered trailing behind a moonlet in the system where the Chiron was found. The ship is dark; a gaping hole exists where an explosion dealt the vessel a fatal blow. Dedrick has made the notation 'FFG Patrocles' on the photo.

He carefully scribes a question mark beside the frigate's name.

We didn't do a trailer for Episode 2, so I figured I'd do one for Ep 3. :)
__________

Colonel Wallace Bisby leaned forward on locked arms, his hands resting on the surface of the tabletop monitor, fingers splayed. "We'll start here," he said.

Thompson studied the map display. "Cassiopeia," she stated. "Is there any particular reason we should start there, sir?" Aside from the fact that it's probably swarming with cylons, so close to the Colonies, she added silently.

"Naval Air Station Barzel," Bisby said. His sidelong glance at Thompson was marked by narrowed eyes, and bespoke his displeasure at having to explain himself to his second-in-command. Still, he continued, "and there's an extensive tylium mine and processing station."

_____

JRLT Dylan "Hobo" Herlihy stood from his seat and followed LT Kacey Hawkins to the rear of the briefing room. Moments earlier, LT McFarland had said, "Besides the obvious benefit of obtaining additional fuel supplies, Colonel Bisby considers the moon a draw point for any surviving forces. So let's hope he's right, and we find more ships there." As they moved toward the hatchway, Hobo touched LT Hawkin's shoulder to get her attention.

"Angel," he began, using her callsign, but then he faltered as she turned toward him. He'd meant to say something about the briefing, though the thought of exactly what was now lost to him.

She paused, meeting his eyes, and didn't respond for a few long seconds. Finally she drew a breath and said quietly, "The old man always has a plan up his sleeve, doesn't he." She didn't take her gaze from him, and the momentary silence between them seemed... comfortable. She smiled slightly, one side of her mouth curling up.

"Yeah, he does." Hobo responded.
